My name is Colleen McGuire, and I live in Saint Paul, Minn.

Today I travel with my husband, but my parents began taking family vacations when I was young. It started with a long drive in the family Vega hatchback to Colorado and New Mexico. From there our family summer vacations got more extensive, taking me on Amtrak from coast to coast. I was even fortunate enough to celebrate my ninth birthday in Ireland. And as I aged I didn’t let being a single woman stop me from traveling.

This blog is a re-telling of my experiences, a few suggestions and a place to share my photographs I take along the way. My hope is Travel Snapshots captures a brief moment in time that inspires people to wander the world and get a better sense of the global community we are part of.
